Position Overview
Responsible for supporting the Safety Department’s goals and needs of the Company to improve safety performance, reduce turnover, and minimize claim losses. The positions primary objectives are to support drivers in the areas of compliance administration, coaching, mentoring, and training drivers. Other objectives include supporting on-boarding and Orientation class processing, as well as other administrative and safety functions.
Responsibilities
· Assist in the administrative functions of on-boarding/terminating drivers in various safety systems
· Monitor accidents/incident reports, inspections, and other activities to identify drivers who need coaching, refresher/remedial training;
· Monitor inbound trucks/drivers against department Need to See list, and coordinate driver contacts.
· Provide administrative oversight of the Company’s driver behavior monitor system (Safety Direct), recognize monthly Top Performers, and facilitating driver coaching sessions.
· Provide administrative oversight of the Company LMS (Sentix), adding/removing drivers, assigning training, and supporting quarterly safety training goals.
· Assist and provide driver support in person and over-the-phone for Hours of Service / Electronic Log Devices (ELD), driver apps, company paperwork, etc.
· Take driver complaint calls, investigate, and determine appropriate course of action.
· Audit Hours of Service compliance and provide driver coaching and retraining.
· Assist in other capacities which support the needs of the department.
Minimum Requirements
· Must have the heart of a teacher and the desire to help others be successful
· Must have exceptional communication, organizational, and time management skills
· Must have a working knowledge of FMCSA regulations
· Must have basic computer skills to include Outlook, Excel, and Word
· Must have the ability to use critical/problem solving skills
· Must have the physical stamina to work outside, climb steps, and stand for extended periods of time
· Previous safety/training experience preferred
· Previous professional driving experience preferred
· Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred
