Responsibilities
- Coordinate patient appointments and manage the scheduling process to optimize clinic efficiency.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing exceptional customer service.
- Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring all information is up-to-date and compliant with healthcare regulations.
- Assist with coding for insurance claims, including Medicare, to ensure proper billing procedures are followed.
- Collaborate with dental office staff to streamline operations and improve patient flow within the clinic.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for documentation and data management.
- Perform clerical duties including filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies as needed.
- Support the dental team in various administrative tasks to enhance patient care delivery.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a dental office or clinic setting is preferred.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices and insurance processes, particularly Medicare.
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems; experience with Epic is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing patient information.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Prior experience as a medical receptionist or in clerical roles is advantageous.
