We’re looking for a dynamic Talent and Training Specialist to support the growth and development of our teams. In this role you will be responsible for implementing training initiatives and recruitment strategies to enhance employee skills, performance, and organizational growth. The specialist will collaborate closely with HR and department leaders to ensure that training and recruitment efforts align with business objectives and foster a high-performing workforce.
Key Responsibilities
- Process position requisitions and post positions to job boards.
- Plan and execute interview and selection procedures, including screening calls, assessments and in-person and virtual interviews.
- Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees.
- Coordinate background checks and new-hire drug testing, as applicable.
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Provide employee training on policies and procedures, and assists with administration and enforcement of company-wide human resources policies, procedures, and practices in accordance with stated corporate objectives and federal and state legal requirements.
- Provides consultation and support to employees and managers on human resources issues and company policies.
- Handles the FMLA leave administration process from the employees initial notice of the need for leave to the return to work. This includes gathering and completing and tracking all required paperwork, determining leave eligibility, designating leave as FMLA-qualifying, requesting medical certification as needed, and accounting for intermittent and reduced schedule leave use.
- Maintains reasonable communication with employees on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; relays communication between employees and their managers during leave within reason.
- Advises managers and employees on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, workers compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Assists with invoice and report generation to Finance and other parties as required.
- Assists with payroll process and employee benefits administration.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Education : Bachelor’s Degree, or Associated degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and at least two years related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
