Landscape Design Consultant
Position Description
MISSION:
Grow revenue through efficiently and accurately designing, estimating, and presenting contracts. You will be working with both bid build and design build clients. This is a Hunter position that will also have some warm marketing leads at times.
Outcomes:
- Achieve yearly sales targets as assigned.
- Follow company script to sell designs/ Project Planning Guide(PPG) and consultations during initial phone consultation, presenting price on first call or on initial site visit.
- Perform onsite consultations with clients to design/ estimate small enhancement work: cleanup, drainage, maintenance, light design/ hardscaping, turning around estimates within 3 days or less. Topline industry average is during initial consultation.
- Maintain a closing percentage of 36% or higher.
- Manage design and present final estimate/ proposal within 30 days of winning original design sale.
- Maintain Job Efficiency of 100% or higher.
- Revise estimates/ plans, negotiate contracts, and overcome client objections.
- Maintain actual project profit per hour (GPPH) of $110 or greater for in house completed work. Unless otherwise noted.
- Meet monthly sales and proposal goal targets for both design/build projects and maintenance contract work, while upselling other services
- Complete change orders for projects in production within 24 hours of being notified by operations manager/ crew leader
- Develop and maintain relationships that will build your pipeline. Target companies will include construction companies, architects, landscape architects and many more industry verticals.
- Utilize HubSpot for pipeline management and keep your database up to date
- Develop a yearly pipeline of 5 million or more in potential revenue.

Essential Functions:
- Perform job functions in 100% alignment with: Employee Manual, Truck Use Form, Vision & Values, Designer Responsibility Checklist, Designer Plant List, Hardscape Catalog, Service Rates, Phone Script #2, and other assigned company policies. Deviation will result in warnings and/ or termination.
- Complete and upload property basemaps, subcontractor paperwork, designs and site pictures/ videos into client JTF folder
- Create and finalize BOSS installation proposal from finished design
- Present customer proposals in accordance with company “Killer Proposal” outline
- Facilitate permits and HOA approvals as needed
- Pick up client deposit/ final payment checks as needed
- Complete JTF Production Checklist upon customer approval/ deposit payment
- Take-off properties to count and measure for maintenance estimates
- Complete additional responsibilities as provided by supervisor
- Support accounts receivable when needed with collections.
Account Management
- Conduct thorough pre-construction meetings to ensure optimal production communication
- Perform site visits as needed to ensure projects are being built to plan
- Check plant placements
- Layout Hardscaping Installations
- Answer client questions as needed as it relates to their current project or completed projects
- Manage the warranty process ensuring plant and materials issues are completed in a timely manner
- Facilitate addons and change orders in conjunction with sales
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be insurable on Gardens of Babylon’s Auto Policy
- Willingness to expand education of plants, landscaping, and maintenance.
- Experience in CAD drafting software.
- 3 to 5 years landscape or horticultural, design or estimation experience
- **3D designing software experience is a plus, but not necessary.
- **Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferable but not mandatory.
Salary : $70,000 - $180,000
