Job Description:
The Biller is responsible for supplying clerical and billing support to the GCS billing office. This person will also be responsible for effectively following up with payors and patients to ensure payments are received in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
- Maximizes revenue recoupment and physician reimbursements; and maintains favorable management of A/R days and re-work
- Accurately and efficiently processes charge data, payment posting and related credit adjustments, registration and insurance information
- Completes daily, weekly and monthly assignments to ensure accurate and timely claim processing by all governmental and third party payers
- Documents all billing related activity under patient accounts on the billing system to provide a dependable audit trail
- Minimizes audit by ensuring compliance of all processes, policies, and governmental regulations, regarding claim submission and financial policies
Qualifications/Education:
- Demonstrates general knowledge in ICD-10 and CPT coding methodologies and criteria
- Has (and maintains) current knowledge of all regulations and standards (local, state and federal guidelines) pertaining to claim submission and processing
- Minimum Education: High School or G.E.D.
