Position Summary: This position is responsible for transporting the individuals supported by the Gathering Club as well as those not supported by the Gathering Club, who request services. This Role is responsible for meeting the needs of the individuals supported as well as the best interest of the agency.
Qualifications:
- Be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Must have a valid driver’s license and good driving record
- One (1) year experience in transportation (preferred, but will train)
- Have no more than two (2) convictions for moving violations in the last three (3) years
- Have no convictions of any sexual crime or crime of violence
- Pass a pre-employment and random drug test
- First aid and CPR certified training.
- Certified training regarding bloodborne pathogens.
- Certified Passenger assistance training.
- Certified Defensive Drivers Training course.
- Must be able to read, understand and implement written and oral instructions
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Must have a sympathetic attitude towards the care of the sick and elderly.
- Must be willing to work with Multicultural and Multilingual communities.
- Must be willing to work with all Communities.
Responsibilities:
- Effectively and efficiently transport the individuals supported to designations that are provided.
- Understands, ensures and adheres to established Gathering Club ADHC policies and procedures, ensuring that all relevant laws, regulations, and policies are enforced.
- Perform driving responsibilities independent of direct care responsibilities.
- Responsible for inspection of vehicles to ensure compliance with all ADA and other Federal, State and Local regulatory standards and laws. This includes the pre-trip and post-trip Inspections.
- Responsible for completing the Medical Escort Log Driver Log; ensuring that all recorded information is complete, accurate, and submitted to the Transportation Manager by noon of the next business day.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must be willing to work a split shift 4 hours in the morning and 4 hours in the afternoon to accommodate medical runs.
