Tax Advisory Consultant

Must Have Skill

• 2 years of recent CPA firm experience is a MUST
• Technical Tax Expertise: Strong experience with a variety of tax returns, including federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and corporations (1040, 1065, 1120, etc.).
• Competence in managing tax return reviews and addressing complex tax issues.
• Financial Reporting and Accounting: Experience in financial statement preparation and compilations, with a minimum of 3-5 years in these areas.
• Minimum five (5) years of tax return preparation experience, with at least two (2) years
• reviewing tax returns.
• Client Relationship Management: Ability to manage client interactions independently, ensuring exceptional service and proactive communication.
• Leadership and Mentorship: Skills in mentoring and guiding junior staff within a collaborative team environment.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively in both autonomous and team settings.

Technical Proficiency:

• Proficiency in software such as QuickBooks, Adobe, and tax software (Lacerte preferred, though training is offered). Familiarity with tax research tools.

Certification: CPA or EA designation required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee tax advisory projects, ensuring compliance with GAAP and tax regulations.
• Prepare and review financial statements and reports, providing insights for clients.
• Mentor junior staff, fostering their professional development and technical skills.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding tax strategies and estate planning.
• Utilize accounting software, including QuickBooks, to streamline financial processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on mergers and acquisitions as needed.
