The Director of Sales is a member of the hotel team, and functions as the sales and marketing business leader for the hotel. The Director of Sales provides direction, guidance, support, leadership and training to the property level sales associates. Collaborating with the Director of Revenue Management, and the Regional/Corporate Sales and Revenue team, the Director of Sales will articulate and achieve the company’s goals and demonstrate a commitment to these goals through work ethic, integrity, passion, and respect for the hotel, company and its associates
This position will be responsible for generating new business to ensure that property revenues are meeting and exceeding goals, ultimately delivering premium market share results. The Director of Sales will lead all sales efforts and sales related activities at the property.
Responsibilities Overview
- Meets and exceeds revenue goals by developing new accounts and relationships.
- Effectively move share from competitors to the Avid Brooklyn, achieving and exceeding RevPAR index goals.
- Actively solicit business via phone, telemarketing, cold calls, warm calls, e-commerce, site visits, etc.
- Work closely with the Director of Sales, and Director of Revenue Management on strategies to move market share
- Ensure systems are established and in place to respond to customer needs within a defined response period. These may include, but are not limited to: telephone inquiries, bids, proposals, confirmation of bookings, thank you letters, follow up letters, etc.
- Development and implementation of SMART Plans for assigned market segments. Monitor results and progress during weekly one-on-one meetings.
- Manage accounts to achieve collective Genuine Hospitality guest satisfaction targets.
- Although minimal, prepare status and period end reports.
