Job Title : Senior Commercial Underwriter (C&I)
Department : Credit / Risk
Reports to : Senior Credit Officer
Summary : The Senior Commercial Underwriter evaluates the overall risk of borrowers using an established process and criteria in order to assist the Bank in making sound lending decisions.
- Partners with Relationship Manager in qualifying and structuring proposed transactions.
- Attend client or prospect calls when appropriate.
- Gather and Analyze credit data, financial statements, and tax returns.
- Pull and review client records and informational reports.
- Prepare and analyze projections using sound assumptions.
- Prepare analyses, reports and presentations for management review and regulatory reporting. Assist in presentation of reports for management and committees.
- Ensure all transactions and processing are in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines, policies and procedures.
- On-going portfolio management to include, but not limited to, covenant compliance and borrowing base analysis.
- Assemble, record, and store all credit file data (either electronically or written) in an accessible and organized manner.
- Underwrite other business lines as needs arise.
- Assist all team members when necessary to meet the borrower expectations and bank goals.
- Play a role in coaching / mentoring less experienced underwriters within the organization
