Other duties include but are not limited to:

• Answering the phones in a professional manner
• Keeping the restaurant and building clean and tidy
• Acting as a team player by assisting others
• Having knowledge of and sharing information on our weekly promotions and special events
• Any other tasks assigned by management.

Another role that our hosts play is an assistant waitstaff (A/W). Main duties include:

• Run food to tables
• Pre-bus and bus tables
• Help servers to keep n/a drinks full
• Fill ice bins
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the restaurant and kitchen area
• Any other tasks assigned by management

Host shifts are scheduled Monday - Sunday and Saturday & Sunday mornings. A/W's are scheduled Saturday & Sunday mornings and various shifts throughout the week based on expected business. Shifts are typically 3 - 5 hours during the evenings or 4 - 6 hours on weekend mornings.

Hosts and A/W's receive a tip-out based on food sales from the serving staff during hours worked. We offer flexible schedules and an employee food discount at Gilroy's and our family of restaurants as extra benefits.
