The Program Coordinator, Girl Scouts Beyond Bars (GSBB) at Girl Scouts of Western Washington (GSWW) helps with logistics and program delivery for Girl Scouts in grades K-12th participating in the GSBB program at all designated Department of Correction (DOC) facilities in Western Washington. This program supports the social, emotional, and educational development of youth who may not have participated in Girl Scouts and have an incarcerated family member. The Program Coordinator will help with tailoring curriculum to address the specific needs and interests of the Girl Scouts involved, ensuring members experience quality program delivery based on the Girl Scout Leader Experience (GSLE). The Program Coordinator will also assist with and participate in virtual meetings, DOC facility troop meetings, planning meetings, outings, camp sessions, cookie sales, and recruitment activities. This position requires extensive travel across Western Washington in both GSWW and rental vehicles.
This is a regular, full-time (40 hours per week), non-exempt role with the requirement of residency in Washington, specifically within King County (greater Seattle area). This is a hybrid role, with the primary work location in Seattle (Georgetown neighborhood). Successful candidates must be willing and able to work out of this office, as well as alternative GSWW offices as needed or when requested. While the full pay range for this position is $23.58 to $27.74 per hour, this position will start at $23.58 per hour for internal pay equity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists with the formation and coordination of facility and community-based troops for youth impacted by adverse childhood experiences (ACEs).
- Completes Department of Corrections facility orientation to obtain volunteer status.
- Provides transportation for Girl Scouts across Western Washington, ensuring they get to and from home for monthly facility troop meetings, annual facility overnights and extended days, encamporee overnights, and summer camp safely. This includes extensive weekend travel to facilities throughout the region.
- Assists the Program Manager in supporting facility-based troop volunteers (incarcerated parents), arrange guest speakers and participating in GSWW events.
- Collaborates with Beyond Bars team to build facility volunteer training manual, assists with volunteer management and troop maintenance.
- Assists with the development and preparation of developmentally appropriate and culturally relevant curriculum in accordance with the GSLE.
- Maintains records of troop minutes and attendance, registrations, permission slips, transportation plans, Guardian/Youth Agreements, and evaluation forms.
- Assists the Program Manager in developing and maintaining collaborative relationships with DOC facilities stakeholders, community partners, and other service providers as appropriate.
- Attends monthly parent meetings and community/partner meetings.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work with culturally and racially diverse groups.
- Effective interpersonal skills to ensure effective interactions with individuals at all levels and backgrounds.
- Availability to work designated schedule Tuesday-Saturday, which includes several evenings each month.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative and maintain confidentiality.
- Skilled in Microsoft 365, specifically Outlook, Word, Canva, and Excel.
- Must be comfortable driving a 12-passenger vehicle.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience Required
- A minimum of one year working with homeless, foster care, youth impacted by incarceration or youth from underrepresented communities,
- Associate of Arts degree in related field, or
- Equivalent combination of related experience and education
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Bi- or multi-lingual (Spanish preferred)
- Experience with trauma informed practices and ACE factors with youth
- 25 years of age or older for purpose of van rentals
- Experience with Girl Scouts
Other Qualifications
- Must reside within King County with the ability to work out of our Seattle office in the Georgetown neighborhood.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification within three months of employment
- Valid Washington State Food Worker card within three months of employment
- Valid Washington State driver’s license, proof of insurance, vehicle in working condition and the ability to fulfill timely and extensive travel requirements across widespread regional geography
- Satisfactory results from criminal background search for GSWW and the Department of Corrections.
- Commitment to the Girl Scout mission and willingness to maintain Girl Scout membership
- Must be willing and able to come into alternative GSWW office locations as needed or when requested
