Position: Benefits Coordinator Department: Human Resources Location: Glencoe, MN Remote Work: No Position Type: Full Time Hours Per 2-week Pay Period: 80 hours per two-week pay period Shift: Days Schedule: Scheduled hours to be established based on candidate preference within a 7:00AM-5:30PM range. Weekend Rotation: No Holiday Rotation: No Position Summary: This role manages and administers leave and employee benefit programs. Benefit administration responsibilities include ensuring all employees are informed, enrolled, and supported throughout their benefits experience. Additional benefit responsibilities include bill reconciliation, compliance and reporting, claims resolution, and audits. Leave administration responsibilities include managing and administering employee leave requests, ensuring compliance with organization policies, federal and state regulations, and providing support to employees during their leave process. This role involves coordinating various types of leaves, including but not limited to medical, family, personal, and disability leave, while maintaining confidentiality and a high standard of service. This position also handles all employee administration tasks regarding change of status, terminations, and related responsibilities. Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in business, accounting, or related field. Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- At least two years of experience in human resources or benefits administration, with a focus on leave of absence management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong understanding of benefits policies, and the ability to work with employees at all levels providing exceptional service to employees.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and serve as a resource for all leave and benefit matters and questions.
- Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, and other federal and state leave laws and regulations. Problem-solving skills, especially in navigating complex leave scenarios.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems – UKG experience preferred, leave management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Empathy and understanding of employees' needs, combined with a professional approach to handling difficult situations.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
