Description
The Teaching Assistant in the Ageno School of Business will support computer related technical topics in multiple courses in the Analytics, Project Management, Mathematics and IT Management programs. The work will begin April 1, 2019.
Work will not exceed 20 hours per week. The TA will have direct student contact as part of the technical support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist students with technical issues related to R and sublime text. Example of technical issues include-changing directories (MAC & PC), running the libraries in R, working on codes to check if any update is needed
- Develop and manage a Hadoop AWS test platform
- Develop Teradici support for AWS workstations
- Coordinate with GGU IT group to manage AWS budgets to set limits
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
Knowledge of:
- Proficiency in R and Sublime text (knowledge of R libraries such MASS, Reshape, VCD, psych).
- Knowledge of Hadoop
- Knowledge of AWS
- Knowledge of Teradici tools
- Knowledge of Moodle platform preferred.
Ability to:
- Communicate clearly; organize information, and possess superb attention to detail.
Experience and Education:
- Previous technical server management.
- Previous general office experience.
