Position Overview The GISU Grants Manager supports both the learning and operational functions of the Grand Isle Supervisory Union. This role oversees state and federal grant administration, engages in planning, collaborates with Central Office Directors and principals to achieve grant-supported objectives, and seeks new funding opportunities to enhance school operations and educational initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Grants Administration, Compliance, and Financial Oversight:
Manage state and federal grant programs, ensuring compliance with federal and state requirements
Maintaining grant files and monitoring expenditures to ensure proper use of funds.
Maintaining personnel documentation for federal grants
Submitting grant applications, amendments, reports, and documentation.
Generating and reviewing financial and operational reports for accuracy.
Addressing billing inquiries.
Grants Management System maintenance
Completing procurement and order processes, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and invoice submissions.
Policy Development and Documentation:
Draft, revise, and maintain organizational policies, including the Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
Grant Writing and Funding Acquisition:
Identify and write grants to support school and operational needs.
Develop and manage Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
General Responsibilities:
Collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Maintain knowledge of School District operations.
Adhere to the established work schedule with regular attendance.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
Associate Degree in Business or equivalent experience preferred.
Minimum of one year in a fast-paced and confidential administrative role.
Skills and Abilities:
Language Skills: Ability to interpret grant applications, safety rules, and procedure manuals. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Mathematical Skills: Proficiency in arithmetic and data interpretation, including rates, ratios, and percentages.
Reasoning Ability: Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret instructions in various formats.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access). Knowledge of special education procedures is a plus.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and communicate clearly.
