What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Repack Assistant position at Greater Cleveland Food Bank?
The Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio, having made possible over 55 million meals in 2017 to hungry people in Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Ashland and Richland counties. The Food Bank’s mission is to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day. We do this through both food distribution and SNAP outreach efforts. , The Volunteer Repack Assistant will assist in the Repack Salvage Room by helping break down and bale corrugate / plastic used in food processing and packing. This will reduce the amount of congestion in the Salvage room, enable more donated product to be stored in the racks, and improve safety as less pallets will be on the floor throughout the room. The volunteer will also assist with cleanliness and order in the areas.
