FOR INQUIRIES, PLEASE CONTACT THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY: Greene County Juvenile CourtPrevention & Intervention Services2100 Greene Way BoulevardXenia, OH 45385937-562-4000The Family Engagement Mentor/Assessment Coordinator is a professional person appointed to provide support to Probation and Intervention Center staff in the delivery of Service Plans with a focus on the Family and Living Arrangements need domain of the Ohio Youth Assessment System (“OYAS”), and in accordance with the Family Engagement Mentor program statement (attached). The Family Engagement Mentor will also work in tangent and collaborate with the Assessment and Intervention Center Assistant Director and Assessment Coordinator regarding the delivery of assessments, caseload management and determination of individual, group and family services while promoting the goals, objectives and mission of the organization. The Family Engagement Mentor is an unclassified employee appointed by, and serves at the pleasure of, the Greene County Juvenile Court Judge under the provision of 2151.13 of the Ohio Revised Code.Full-time (35 hours/week)

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
1. Family Engagement: Deliver Parent Project program; coordinate initial contact with youth and families referred to the Intervention Center; assist with delivery of orientation to youth and families referred to the Intervention Center; collaborate with Assessment Service Coordinator and Mental Health Therapist to support delivery of assessments and coordinate community services; attend court hearings; maintain regular contact with families and conduct weekly home visits to monitor youth progress and assess family needs, including indigent needs, assist with Intervention Center program transportation and any other duties as defined.2. Assessment Coordination: Screen referrals pursuant to criteria; facilitate receiving and processing of youth into and out of the program and/or facility; interview court personnel, law enforcement and other social services professionals; interview youth; interview parent or legal guardian; administer risk, need and responsivity assessments including but not limited to Ohio Youth Assessment System (OYAS), mental health screening, family needs assessment and human trafficking assessment; function as OYAS Administrator; track administration of assessments; present case review weekly to inter-disciplinary Assessment Team; establish Personal Program Plans for youth referred to the juvenile court Intervention Center.3. Public Relations: Promote the program and consult with professionals including but not limited to court officials, mental health practitioners, social services workers, medical personnel, university personnel, parents/guardians, students, case workers, school officials, law enforcement; attend court hearings; serve as court representative at Family and Children First Cluster Meetings; participate in agency interview and staff selection process; conduct agency tours, as needed.4. Meetings/Committees: Assessment Team Meetings; Program Review Meetings; Family and Children First Cluster Meetings; other meetings and committees, as needed.5. Quality Assurance: Conduct, track and analyze program data; engage in program development; assist with program monitoring by the Ohio Department of Youth Services, including site reviews, pre and post measures and annual audits.6. Fiscal and Budget Management Support: Support fiscal operations including purchasing, employee time clock and leave request management; monitor grant directives regarding fiscal and budget operations, including inventory; submit grant reports; review expenditures and forecast program needs to ensure accountability of purchasing; research and pursue alternate sources of revenue.7. Meetings/Committees: Program Review Committee; Assessment Team Meeting; Intervention Center Meeting; Ohio Department of Youth Services RECLAIM Meeting; Family and Children First Cluster Meeting; other meetings and committees, as needed.8. Support: Assist and support the Greene County Juvenile Court in program delivery, transportation, preparing meals, direct youth care and all other assistance as may be needed by the Intervention Center staff.9. Support Functions: Research; policy review; special projects.

SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
WORK CONDITIONS (Examples may not be comprehensive): The Family Engagement Mentor Assessment Coordinator occupies an office at the Greene County Juvenile Court Assessment and Intervention Center (AIC), which is located off-site from the Juvenile Justice Complex. The AIC is a low security office and group activity setting for male and female youth ages 12-18. Youth interactions may occur with youth under the age of 12. The population consists of at-risk, emotionally disturbed and/or potentially violent youth. There is potential for exposure to communicable diseases and/or parasites. All workers are mandated reporters required to report harassment, abuse and/or neglect pursuant to established policy and procedure. Work is to be conducted, at times, in a fast-paced environment involving deadlines. Some evening hours are required.TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT (Examples may not be comprehensive): Orientation training in policies, procedures and practices with additional training annually. Required training includes but is not limited to: CPR/1st Aid/AED certification; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification; Greene County Risk Management training (including Fire Safety and Prevention, Hazard Communication and Defensive Driving); Ohio Youth Assessment System (OYAS); Greene County Personnel Handbook.
