Maintenance Assistant

Summary: To maintain the facility, office, grounds and equipment at GSC.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Maintain warehouse and facility grounds Maintain air conditioning units. Maintain forklifts, pallet jacks, tuggers Maintain batteries that are watered weekly Maintain chargers. Maintain roll up doors and ramps Maintain grocery buggies Maintain fire extinguishers, ladders, hoist, fire risers and emergency lights monthly Maintain cigarette stamping equipment - cutter, stampers, and recasers Welding, cutting, fabrication, plumbing, carpenter work and painting Replace lights and electrical repair.   Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Education and/or Experience: Two years related experience or training.   Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.   Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and common fractions.   Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.   Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Refrigeration and Electrical License preferred.   Other Skills and Abilities:      Ability to use hand tools, power tools, manlift, saws, paint sprayers, refrigeration gauges, torches,evacuation        machine, recovery machine, electric meters.   Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.   Protective Clothing and Equipment Used: Steel toe boots, safety glasses, gloves, aprons, face shields, welding shields, ear protection, safety harness, freezer suits.
