Day Porter

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Day Porter/Maid to join our team. The Day Porter/Day Maid ensures the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in alignment with company standards, contractual specifications, and agreed-upon performance levels. This position supports the maintenance of a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Duties

• Report issues, concerns, or service updates to GSI Management.
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness of lavatories (minimum twice daily), restocking supplies and reporting deficiencies.
• Restock and maintain sanitary napkin dispensers.
• Ensure stairways, basements, corridors, and building entrances are clean and debris-free.
• Clean and polish interior and exterior metal surfaces, elevator doors, directory boards, and entrance doors as needed.
• Sweep and maintain exterior areas, including sidewalks, patios, decks, smoking areas, and loading docks.
• Empty trash containers in the building and garage as necessary.
• Remove gum, debris, and foreign matter from all areas of the premises.
• Clean and polish building entrance glass at least three (3) times daily.
• Vacuum elevator lobbies and building corridors as necessary throughout the day.
• Report plumbing or mechanical issues to the Property Manager immediately.
• Maintain a clean and professional building exterior, including planters, windows, and entrance trim.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for all tasks.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the Building Manager or staff.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in custodial or commercial cleaning preferred.
• Proficiency in basic English (reading, speaking, understanding).
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning practices and equipment is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
• Regular use of hands and fingers for cleaning and equipment operation.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 30 pounds.
• Exposure to wet or humid conditions, fumes, airborne particles, and noise.
• Use of specialized cleaning equipment, including vacuums and other tools.
