Job Summary:
Global Care Optometry is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full-Charge Bookkeeper to join our corporate team. This role is crucial to maintaining the financial health of our multi-location medical practice. The ideal candidate will handle all day-to-day accounting functions, including managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with tax requirements. This role will collaborate closely with an external CPA firm for financial analytics, tax preparation, and budgeting while also providing occasional support to the HR team as needed. Responsibilities:
- Maintain and manage the general ledger, ensuring accurate journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring timely and accurate processing.
- Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Process payroll through Paychex and ensure compliance with payroll regulations.
- Track and manage fixed assets, depreciation schedules, and accruals.
- Generate and analyze financial statements, including profit & loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Prepare financial reports for management review and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Create and submit monthly sales tax filings.
- Assist with year-end closing processes and provide necessary financial data to external auditors, CPAs, and tax professionals.
- Collaborate with management to provide financial insights and recommendations.
- Occasionally assist the HR team with financial and administrative tasks as needed.
- Report directly to the COO.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
- Must be able to work onsite 5 days a week in the Tampa corporate office.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Enterprise is required.
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong Excel skills.
- Proven experience in corporate accounting or bookkeeping roles.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and general ledger accounting practices.
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation processes.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently while also taking direction as needed.
- Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality regarding company and employee information.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a multi-location and multi-company environment.
- Experience with Paychex.
- Experience in the medical industry.
- Basic HR knowledge.
- Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Payroll experience.
