Summary
This position will serve as the all-in-one financial staff for our private schools and country club business, reporting to the CFO of the group company. He/She will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day financial operation of the business, and will work closely with the CFO to ensure that financial work is organized, professional and accurate through regular reporting, budgeting and planning, and analysis. He/She will also work in unison with other executives and managers, ensuring that they are fully supported in their work.
Duties
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping duties, including but not limited to:
- Recording financial transactions in the general ledger
- Preparing and posting journal entries
- Reconciling bank and credit card statements
- Managing accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Processing payments via check, ACH, wire, autopay, reimbursements, etc.
- Generating financial reports and statements on a monthy basis and as requested by management
- Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
- Conducting periodic audits to ensure compliance with financial regulations
- Working with auditors to complete annual Agreed Upon Procedures Audit for Florida private schools
- Work with banks, creditors and other financial institutions to ensure smooth cooperation in all aspects of financial work
- Complete Human Resources Work for the Company
- Processing payroll and ensuring accurate payroll tax filings
- Overseeing HR processes, including onboarding, offboarding, contract signing, wage garnishment, etc.
- Admin Work
- Oversee administrative work as related to company registration, various tax payments (property, etc.), insurance, and in some cases assist the CFO or management in following up on other admin tasks
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, Accountant or similar role
- Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficient in using Intuit Quickbooks Online
- Proficient/Advanced in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with tax preparation and filing
- Excellent knowledge of balance sheet reconciliation and financial statement analysis
- Ability to perform accurate data entry and 10-key typing skills
- Experience with Payroll Processing through ADP or similar software
- Experience as a company HR Officer or similar role
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Certified Bookkeeper designation is a plus
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Strong communication skills (written and speaking)
- Ability to work under pressure
