We are seeking an experienced and disciplined Certified Scrum Master and Project Manager to lead and manage agile software development projects for our US Census Bureau customer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT/Software Development, with a minimum of 7 years of experience. The Scrum Master will ensure that the team is fully functional, productive, and executing sprint commitments while adhering to agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management:
- Serve as the manager responsible for ensuring that the team is fully functional and productive.
- Ensure the team has the necessary resources and support to execute sprint commitments effectively.
- Metric and Reporting:
- Create Sprint and Release metric charts and deliver them to the GEO Project Manager after each sprint.
- Track and report on team progress and performance metrics.
- Agile Process Facilitation:
- Ensure the agile process is followed correctly, implementing and tracking improvements over time.
- Facilitate internal Retrospective Meetings each sprint to discuss process improvements and ideas to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Meeting Facilitation:
- Provide Sprint Review Meeting agenda and ensure meeting minutes are written and reviewed.
- Facilitate Sprint Pre-Planning sessions to prepare the team for upcoming sprints.
- Backlog Management:
- Ensure new stories are added based on discussions during Sprint Review Meetings for future review and prioritization.
Qualifications:
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification or equivalent.
- At least 7 years of experience in IT/Software Development projects.
- Proven experience in managing agile software development teams.
- Strong understanding of agile software development utilizing a scrum framework.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., Gitlab, JIRA, Trello, etc.).
- Experience in a leadership role within a technology or consulting company.
- Additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) are a plus.
The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.

Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
