What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nurse Practitioner, Family Medicine Clinic (PRN) position at Gunnison Valley Health?
Family Nurse Practitioners (NP's) practice medicine unsupervised by a physicians. NP's are formally trained to provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services. They work as members of the family medicine health care team; they take medical histories, examine and treat patients, order and interpret laboratory tests and x-rays, and make diagnoses. They also treat minor injuries, by suturing, splinting, and casting. NP’s record progress notes, instruct and counsel patients, and order or carry out therapy. They also prescribe some medications.
Education: The Family Nurse Practitioner will complete satisfactory passing of national certifying examination and or the National Commission on Certification of Family Nurse Practitioners and will be certified by the State Board of Medical Examiners.
Experience: One year of experience as a nurse practitioner in a clinic setting, preferred.
Licenses/Certification: Certified by the State Board of Medical Examiners as well as all necessary certifications to treat patients and prescribe and / or order supporting medications and services.
Compensation: $45.83 - $55.00/hr, depending on experience.

Frequently – Walking, sitting, change position, reaching, reach across midline, handling, fingering, crouch, stairs, lifting/lowering (0-20 lbs)
Continuously – See with corrective eyewear, hear clearly with assistance
Shift - 8 Hour Shift
