Software Test Engineer $35.00 - $53.00/ Hr.

The Software Test Engineer 2 is responsible for creating test plans, writing automated test scripts, firmware testing, researching software issues, and may include parameter maintenance and writing design documentation and requirements. This is done under supervision from the Software Engineering Supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Creates detailed software test plans designed to cover both validation and verification of a new or modified software feature.
Develops automated software test scripts.
Researches and reports all software anomalies in bug tracking software.
Researches software issues and communicates them effectively to internal customers.
Releases standard and emergency software versions.
Researches parameter and setting updates by interviewing programmers, electrical and mechanical engineers, service, and applications staff, also by running tests on machines using new software features.
Creates test methods and test plans for testing of firmware. This may include the creation of new software test tools.
Presents ideas relating to software testing or other issues clearly, using Microsoft Office applications when appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
Experience with a scripting language.
Comfortable working in Windows and Linux environments.
Desired Qualifications
Knowledge of common testing methodologies.
Experience reading technical documentation.
Experience working with version control.
Experience in automating a task with a scripting language.
Education
Bachelor's Degree BA/BS/BFA/BSA from a four-year college or university is required, plus additional related experience, training and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
