Harrison Western was founded in 1968 and has provided superior design and construction services to the mining and civil industries for over 50 years. We have entered a Joint Venture with Shaft Sinkers to construct a new utility shaft at WIPP (Waste isolation Pilot Plant). WIPP is a Department of Energy facility located near Carlsbad, New Mexico. When the project is completed, the final shaft will measure 26 feet in diameter and extend to 2,275 feet below the surface.
We are looking for experienced shaft miners. Shaft miners work under the directions of other mine personnel performing physical activities in support of completing mine development, construction and maintenance.
The WIPP project is expected to take up to three years to complete. Open positions will be based on the operational need and may be months to years in duration. All positions are located at the WIPP site, 26 miles southeast of Carlsbad, New Mexico.
