Accounts Payable and Payroll Specialist

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payroll, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and employees. This position requires a solid understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable transactions including keying in vendor invoices and also processing them through the IMS/DEX system.
• Process daily and weekly payroll, including employee maintenance and hours processing.
• Administer vacation and all other company policies as related to payroll & HR.
• Ensure compliance with two Union Contracts.
• Maintain Store House Charge accounts including collection and monthly statement processing.
• Maintain organized records of all accounts payable vendor files and employee files.
• Utilize accounting software such as Kronos for processing payroll hours and Mas100 for processing checks for payroll and accounts payable.
• Respond to vendor inquiries regarding payments and resolve any discrepancies promptly.
• Support month-end closing activities by preparing necessary reports related to accounts payable.
• Process weekly UNFI statements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Accounts Payable/Payroll Specialist or similar role in accounting.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
• Familiarity with payroll processes in Kronos and related accounting practices is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software Mas100 is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Data entry skills including 10 key.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.50 - $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
