What are the responsibilities and job description for the Practice Manager position at Health Ministries Clinic?
The Practice Manager is responsible for the overall running of the clinical practices assigned to their area. This includes resource management, resolving concerns (patient, staffing, scheduling, etc.), identifying quality concerns (care gaps) and ensuring they are addressed, and completing administrative tasks associated with staff management. Each Practice Manager has 2-6 providers in their oversight. Responsibilities include:
- Create team-based work environment where staff can seamlessly work within all areas to provide optimum coverage to support providers and provide a positive patient experience.
- Staff appropriately to the needs of the practice and the clinic as a whole.
- Allocate and reallocate staffing to ensure coverage when not fully staffed.
- Monitor staff performance to ensure they are productive and care for our patients in a high-quality and timely manner.
- First line of response for resolving concerns when they arise (patient, staffing, scheduling, etc.).
- Assess workflows and modify them as needed to maximize productivity and quality care (monitoring unlocked charts; panel cleanup; identifying areas of greatest need; etc.).
- Identify and action quality concerns (care gaps) and ensure that the quality metrics are being met.
- Complete administrative tasks associated staff management (performance management; time off requests; call schedules; etc.).
- Communicate with the team clinic-based information as well as communicate across the clinic to ensure needs of the team of being met.
We are looking both for those that may have a nursing licensure as well as those that may not have a nursing licensure but have relevant management experience in a clinical setting. Knowledge of public health is preferred.
