Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Facility Maintenance Supervisor
Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep, repair, and maintenance of the organization’s facilities, equipment, and grounds. This role ensures that all facilities are maintained in a safe and operational condition.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on facilities and equipment.
- Address and repair minor maintenance issues at all facilities.
- Maintain grounds, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and clearing debris at all facilities.
- Assist in the setup and teardown of equipment for special events and functions.
- Coordinate with external vendors for more extensive repairs or specialized services as directed by Facility Maintenance Supervisor.
- Ensure that all maintenance tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
- Deliver supplies to all facilities as needed.
- Assist the custodian in maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
- Assist in monitoring van maintenance.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
- Assist with inventory management of maintenance supplies and reorder as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Maintenance Supervisor.
Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic mechanical skills for making minor repairs to buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Familiarity with lawn and garden equipment.
- Ability to operate maintenance-related tools and equipment safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to interact with staff and vendors professionally.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
- Valid Alabama Driver’s License.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary.
