The manufacturing cycle counter ensures accurate inventory management and tracking within a manufacturing environment. This role is critical in maintaining efficient operations by conducting regular counts and reconciliations of inventory levels, identifying discrepancies, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve any issues. The Cycle counter will be vital to maintaining data integrity and supporting the teams.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct ad-hoc inventory counts of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods within the manufacturing facility.
- Compare physical inventory counts with system records to identify discrepancies or inaccuracies and investigate the root causes.
- Accurately record inventory counts and adjustments into the inventory management system.
- Maintain clear and organized records of inventory counts, adjustments, and discrepancies.
- Collaborate with production, warehousing, and procurement teams to promptly identify and resolve inventory-related issues.
- Generate inventory reports and analyses to provide insights into accuracy, trends, and potential process improvements.
- Suggest and implement process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce discrepancies, and optimize inventory management procedures.
- Update inventory records, ensuring real-time accuracy of stock levels.
- Monitor shelf-life expiry dates of materials to prevent stockouts or waste.
- Coordinate with procurement and suppliers to resolve delivery discrepancies or issues.
- Communicate effectively with production teams to ensure timely availability of materials.
- Collaborate with quality control and production to implement improvements based on incoming material insights.
- Generate and maintain detailed documentation related to received materials.
- Create and update reports on material receipts, inspection outcomes, and inventory levels.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in materials handling, inspection, and storage.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in inventory management, cycle counting, or manufacturing experience preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management software and proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work independently.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma principles is a plus.
