Job Description
Job Title: Assistant Preschool Director
Reports: Preschool Director
Full time Position
The Assistant Preschool Director, under the supervision of the Preschool Director, assists with the daily preschool operations to ensure a Christian, warm, loving, caring, and safe educational environment is provided to all children.
Initial Minimum Qualifications:
- A strong faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior of their life demonstrated by regular church worship, prayer, Bible study, humble service and effectively teaching Christian
Bible principles to children
- Florida Director's Credential and maintain required training for renewals
- Must meet state and federal requirements including local and federal background checks and health requirements
- First Aid and CPR Training
- Food Safe Certification as required by Health Dept
- Ability to gain the confidence of staff, parents, and children by demonstrating high quality standards of performance
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient using computers, Microsoft Word, and Excel software
- High standard of integrity, honesty, and confidentially
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience in making fundamental and prudent decisions

Primary (Essential) Job Functions:
- Assumes the responsibilities of the Preschool Director during their absence
- Responsible for day-to-day operations, as may be assigned by the Preschool Director, in accordance with federal and state regulations and licensing standards as well as preschool policies and procedures
- Provides front office support, including answering phones, welcoming, and assisting visitors and volunteers.
- Conducts tours for potential new families
- Maintains daily records and follow-up of students on roll, attendance and wait list
- Familiarizes new families with school policies and procedures
- Daily staff scheduling (coverage for breaks, vacations, illness or emergencies)
- Assist in classrooms when needed
- Supports teachers with resources and on projects
Secondary Job Functions:
- Ensures preschool facility is clean and safe; reports any issues to Director and Facilities
Manager
- Assists in preparing monthly preschool newsletter for preschool families
- Prepares and updates parent information bulletin boards
- Maintains all school and classroom supplies, and orders new supplies with Director's approval
- Communicates with parents, children, state, and local authorities as required
- Creates packets and folders for new enrollment
- Ensures children's personal information is up to date
- Ensures children's medical records always meet Health Department’s requirements
- Provides quarterly report to Health Department
- Assists Director in planning and operating within budget
- Assists Director in coordinating special events
- Assists Director in gathering research i.e., area tuition/programs, summer programs, and other special projects as deemed necessary by Director
- Participates in various meetings (i.e., council, staff meetings, etc.) for the purpose of sharing information and/or improving staff skills and knowledge
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
