Job Summary

The Commercial Operations Support position achieves the bank’s customer service, efficiency, growth, and compliance goals related to Commercial, Business, and Credit lines of business. The incumbent will act as a liaison and an advocate for the Market Presidents, Commercial Relationship Managers, and Commercial Support team members to improve processes, communications and working agreements with relevant internal banking groups. This position participates actively as a member of the Banking Administration Team.


Key Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Serves as commercial subject matter expert and resource to commercial team and bank management.
  • Provides support and training to commercial and business lines of business.
  • Coordinates with bank partners in the design and delivery of necessary training programs for onboarding, reporting tools, technology enhancements, and product education to commercial personnel.
  • Identifies problems and develop solutions for operational efficiencies.
  • Serves as secondary operations contact for effective and efficient communication and processes between Relationship Managers and Support team members as well as all related lines of business to reduce risk and enhance safety and soundness within the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Performs market visits to strengthen relationships and gain insight on the teams’ needs
  • Maintains current knowledge of regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Provides support and training to team regarding procedures, regulations, security, and compliance.
  • Identifies problems and develop solutions for common operational problems that exist in multiple locations.
  • Adhere to all corporate policies and procedures, Federal and State regulations and laws.
  • Complete all mandatory annual compliance training.
  • Follow regulatory requirements including those pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Customer Identification Program (CIP), and OFAC to assist in the identification, detection and determent of money laundering and other unlawful activities, as well as regulations pertaining to lending and consumer compliance to include fair lending laws.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Required:

  • 4 years of experience required with commercial, operations and compliance management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good interpersonal, verbal and written, and supervisory skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of all Commercial Banking products and services
  • Ability to resolve team concerns/issues in a positive way.
  • Team and goal-oriented style – works cooperatively to attain bank and individual sales and service goals within corporate standards and guidelines.
  • Ability to operate as an effective facilitator and provide balanced feedback to commercial team.
  • Ability/desire to gain credibility as a knowledgeable financial problem-solver.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business related field.
  • Previous leadership experience.
