What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Engineer Manager position at Honda Logistics North America?
This role is to manage the department in charge of analyzing/improving/maximizing production operations concerning cycle time, yield, process capability, space usage, safety, and ergonomics within an Automotive Material Handling and Logistics environment. The work of this team promotes teamwork across all organizations; develops self-direction and collaborates with others about company goals to facilitate direction.
Responsibilities
• Leadership for the technical specialists within the department
• Provide direction, guidance and development for technical specialists
• Support the project leads for large projects and lead smaller elements of the project cycle
• Support the department in achieving its vision and direction
• Support in the development and proposal of automation & innovation studies
• Support the budget setting and control activities for the department
• Building Relationship and Partnering with HDMA to ensure successful project planning
• Execute the department mid-term strategy
• Execute Honda Logistics North America (HLNA) innovation studies
• Support in the design of IT programming requirements
• Support with the creation of monthly cost analysis reports
• Promote proactive communication & collaboration throughout the company
• Manage and Evaluate Direct Report Performance Management Reviews
• Enforce company policies and guidelines within the department
• Team Member for large projects for E-Flow Process
• Create layout and designs for innovation equipment
• Support with the management of capital projects
• Ensure the adherence to project schedules
• Identify New Technologies and support the planning and proposal
• Support Request for Quotes (RFQ) and work with HLNA Procurement Team
• Support data and creation for E-Flow presentations
• Follow HLNA Capital Investment Policies and Procedures
• Research New Automation and Innovation Opportunities
• Work with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to understand potential Solutions
• Support the analysis of Capital Investments with Good Return on Investment’s (ROI)
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in industrial, logistics, or other related engineering field with work-related experience or Associate degree in a related Engineering field, or applicable experience will be considered.
Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and verbal)
Strong computer skills including, but not limited to Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD
5 years of process improvement experience within a manufacturing/ logistics environment
3 years in supervisory roles.
Preferred
Warehouse Management System (WMS) & Yard Management System (YMS) experience
Honda Global Production Control System (GPCS) experience or other production ordering systems
Knowledge and proven experience in Lean Manufacturing, Control Plans, PQCT, FMEA, Ergonomics, etc.
Knowledge and proven experience in data analysis utilizing tools such as Python, SQL or other applicable application
Ability /proven record of developing customer forward data/analytics packages (Large Data sets on short notice)
ISO Certification and/or Experience (Quality, Environmental, etc.)
Six Sigma Certification and/or Experience (Green Belt Preferred)
5S Knowledge/Experience
Experience in research development
Project management experience
Salary : $77,000 - $100,000
