Position Overview: The Logistics Dispatcher at Honor Foods plays a pivotal role in the Logistics team, focusing on coordinating outsourced loads and ensuring accurate and timely deliveries. Key Responsibilities:
- Assign carriers based on shipment information and schedule shipments.
- Negotiate carrier rates, selecting carriers in line with service levels and profitability targets.
- Monitor and report on carrier performance, resolving failures promptly.
- Maintain communication with Account Executives and leadership.
- Ensure daily coverage for expected shipments and maintain customer and vendor files.
- Investigate and resolve freight invoice bills and confirm transportation orders.
- Coordinate transportation solutions, negotiating spot rates for optimal and profitable transport.
- Track and trace shipments with contracted carriers and collaborate with warehouse schedulers.
- Develop and analyze dedicated routes and schedules, providing performance data reports.
- Handle logistical issues and provide coverage during irregular work schedules.
- Coordinate OS&D issues at delivery locations and create/distribute weekly shipping reports.
- High school diploma or equivalent; four-year college degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of logistics and/or transportation experience.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle pressure-filled situations.
- Proficient in WMS and Office; demonstrated proficiency with routing/logistics software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work overtime, including nights and weekends.
