Summary/Objective
A Barista, or Coffee Bar Attendant, is responsible for preparing and serving coffee and other beverages to customers. Their duties include working with other Baristas to help take orders, make drinks, and provide timely service to customers.
Essential Functions

Greet customers, take their orders, and use excellent time management and organizational skills to prepare and serve coffee, blended coffee, cold drinks, teas, expresso, pastries, and other sweets and drinks.
Prepare specialized drinks per company recipe guidelines.
Address and resolve customer issues in a polite and effective manner; enlist manager or shift supervisor as necessary.
Handle an assigned house bank and follow all cash handling procedures as per hotel standard.
Comply with all food and beverage regulations.
Assist with inventory and inventory control.
Carry out tasks with attention to detail, cleanliness, and safety.
Understand the operation of the POS system.
Maintains presence behind the bar.
Have full knowledge and understanding of the menus.
Mixing, garnishing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to company specifications.
Adhere to all local and national liquor laws.
Greet guests in a timely manner and take orders.
Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age.
Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment, and working areas.
Order and restock bar inventory.
Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.

Hotels operate 24/7 therefore schedules may at times fluctuate based on the needs of the business.
Standing, walking, bending, stretching, twist, or lifting as much as 25lbs. throughout your scheduled shift and at times as much as 45lbs. or more (tables, kegs, chairs).
Always in uniform and well-groomed with name badge and required pins.
Required education and experience
Food Handlers Certificate
Prior café or coffee shop experience a plus.
High School or GED required
