40 Hours at $18.00/hour - guaranteed hours!

Mission: Humble Design serves individuals, families, and veterans emerging from homelessness by transforming their empty house into a warm, welcoming, and uplifting home with donated furniture and household goods. Across the country, Humble Design warehouses use donations to personalize homes by providing a dignified, life changing experience for clients.
Role: Our movers are the muscle of our organization - literally! We couldn’t do what we do without them. They are responsible for placing furniture into our client’s homes with warmth and care on Deco Days as well as assisting the Warehouse Manager with maintaining a clean and organized warehouse. Other duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Passionate about our mission and wants to help those exiting the homeless community in Cleveland.
- Ability to safely lift heavy furniture five days a week.
- Follows attention to detail when packing the truck with furniture to ensure safe delivery.
- Safely maneuver a U-haul truck.
- Organizing and maintaining inventory of donated furniture in our warehouse.
- Thoughtfully communicates with our donors and volunteers about our mission and donations. Has exceptional customer service.
- Loads and unloads vehicles of donations by hand or by use of hand truck or dolly.
- Assists with day-to-day tasks around the warehouse - including but not limited to cleaning, organizing, sorting, building furniture, and repairs.
- Delivers furniture to client homes with attention to detail.
- Assists with building furniture on Deco Days.
- Visits donors' homes for furniture pickups.
Preferred experience:
- 1-2 years Professional moving experience
- Customer service experience
Required skills:
- Technical Skills – Must know how to use Google Maps or other map applications.
- Physical Ability - Must be able to lift heavy furniture 5 days a week, both with and without using tools.
- Customer Service - Professionally manages difficult or emotional client situations; Accepts donations graciously and enthusiastically; Responds promptly to client and staff needs; Responds to requests for service and assistance.
- Driving Ability - Must be comfortable driving a minimum of 17ft. U-Haul.
- Interpersonal - Maintains confidentiality; Excellent team player.
- Teamwork - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Contributes to building a positive team spirit; Puts success of team above own interests.
- Handy with Tools - Can build/repair furniture and can get creative with the tools available.
- Problem Solving - Able to manage time appropriately; Can identify multiple solutions to problems on the fly.
