Responsibilities:
Engineers are recognized as leaders within the company and are expected to set an example in the key areas of Safety, Compliance, and Quality.
- Lead and contribute to New Product Development, Sustaining Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering initiatives.
- Design, develop, and test mechanical and explosive devices while ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety requirements.
- Utilize engineering principles and energetic material knowledge to evaluate safety, performance, and manufacturability.
- Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and models using CAD software.
- Lead project efforts in defining design requirements, prototyping, design validation testing, and commercial release.
- Work within defined engineering design processes and regulatory frameworks to ensure best practices are followed.
- Take ownership of projects, including planning, scheduling, goal setting, execution, testing, and approvals.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with projects, ensuring smooth execution.
- Maintain thorough record-keeping and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure projects align with business strategies and objectives while meeting performance, cost, and safety goals.
- Uphold a culture of safety and quality while executing daily engineering tasks.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and company regulations for the handling, transporting, and storing of hazardous materials.
- Continuously assess the safety implications of engineering activities before execution.
- Adhere to all HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) policies and procedures, and proactively identify and report non-conformances.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, including customers and vendors.
- Actively participate in team discussions to promote innovation, problem-solving, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the company with professionalism and industry leadership during customer and vendor interactions.

Work Environment / Conditions:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Work settings range from clean indoor labs to unprotected outdoor environments. The employee frequently works with or around explosives. This involves handling packaged/boxed explosives as well as instructing customers in the proper use, storage, and transportation of these explosives. While rare, any accident could be catastrophic and potentially result in injury or death to many employees. The employee frequently works with powders, sometimes in a dusty environment and occasionally around fumes. Workers must not be overly sensitive (allergies, rashes, etc.) to working in these conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

JOB REQUIREMENT
A. Education and Training
- Must possess a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
B. General Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role in a new product design or manufacturing company. Design/Manufacturing experience in an explosive or perforating organization a plus.
- Must possess good organizational and leadership skills.
- Familiar with terminology used in and around the business community.
- Able to be discreet with sensitive financial, personnel and other business-related information.
- Able to manage and work with people in a professional way to accomplish the tasks assigned to this position.
C. Technical Requirements / Skills
- Able to interface with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Able to provide improvement to product designs and manufacturing processes as required.
- Excellent technical writing ability.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong understanding of product design, mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and materials.
- Proficient in SolidWorks and relevant drafting standards.
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn OSHA safety regulations, ATF & DOT explosives, transportation, storage and documentation
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn safe procedures for arming explosive devices, and relevant sections of API RP-67, Recommended Practices for Oilfield Explosives Safety.
- Knowledge of and/or willingness to learn relevant aspects of perforating gun assembly, operating procedures, and explosive
- Must be able to read, write, and understand operating procedures, safety procedures, and test procedures.
- Must be very observant and detail-oriented.
- Must be able to self-motivate and work with little to no supervision.
D. Certificates, Licenses & Registrations
- Must have a valid driver’s license and record that conforms to company’s insurance policies, ATF, DOT, and State or other required Hazmat training.
B. Work Authorization / Security Clearance:
- Able to meet ATF & regulatory security
- Must be US citizen, or lawful permanent resident of the United States (student Visa does not qualify), in accordance with ATF regulations.
