As Genesee County's regional safety net health care provider, Hurley Medical Center reaches out to provide care to many people in eastern Michigan. Since opening on December 19, 1908, Hurley has grown to become the regional provider of advanced specialty care including burn medicine, kidney transplantation, pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, high-risk pregnancy care, and bariatric surgery. Hurley is a Level 1 trauma center, and is the area's premier children's hospital.
