GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The GIS mapping analyst is responsible for developing and maintaining a Geographic Information System (GIS) database to store spatial and attribute data for Iberville Parish. This role is required to work in-office and in the field as needed. Salary depends on experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining a GIS database to store spatial and attribute data for Iberville Parish
- Ensuring accuracy, completeness, and integrity of GIS data through regular updates and quality control measures
- Conducting spatial analysis and geographic modeling to support decision-making processes
- Utilizing GIS tools and techniques to analyze spatial relationships, patterns, and trends
- Generating and producing maps as needed to effectively communicate analysis results to stakeholders
- Customizing maps to meet the specific needs of various departments
- Providing IT support for Information Technology related tasks within the Iberville Parish Office of Emergency Preparedness
QUALIFICATIONS
- An associate’s degree in geography, geographic information systems, or related field
- Proficiency in GIS software and tools, such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Applicant must have a valid Louisiana driver’s license.
- Able to pass physical and drug screens.
Salary : $66,477 - $93,708
