Position Summary : The Title IV Compliance Director reports to the Executive Director of Financial Aid and is responsible for developing and strategies to ensure the institutions adherence to all relevant federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies related to federal student aid. This role involves managing compliance in the administration of financial aid, developing and executing compliance strategies, and providing guidance to faculty, staff and other stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. Essential Functions : - Stay abreast of federal and state legislative and regulatory developments, as well as institutional policies, pertaining to financial aid and academic programs. Identify and interpret regulations that impact the campus community; communicate regulatory changes to relevant campus stakeholders. - Under the guidance of the Executive Director of Financial Aid, develop, review, and update policies and procedures related to financial aid administration to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. - Coordinate documentation and reports needed for audits including, but not limited to : Student Financial Aid audits, Department of Defense audits, and Department of Education program reviews. Develop and coordinate implementation of corrective action plans in response to audit findings, in collaboration with relevant campus stakeholders. - Serve as a point of contact for regulatory agencies, accrediting bodies, and other external stakeholders regarding financial aid compliance matters. - Under the guidance of the Executive Director of Financial Aid, develop, implement, and maintain an effective compliance program to detect, prevent, and resolve issues that fail to meet federal and state regulations related to student financial aid. - Review the process of awarding scholarships, ensuring fairness, transparency, and compliance with donor stipulations and adherence to state and federal regulations. - Manage the oversight of cross-functional regulations, including, but not limited to Consumer Information, Gainful Employment, and NC-SARA reporting and disclosures. - Assess academic programs, both proposing and existing, for compliance with federal student aid regulations amidst evolving standards to ensure alignment of program structure and workforce readiness. - Responsible for reconciliation of federal, state, and institutional scholarship, grant, loan, and work-study funding. - Provide training to campus stakeholders (faculty, staff, and administrators) to enhance their understanding of compliance requirements, procedures, and best practices. Minimum Qualifications : - Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Business Administration, Higher Education Administration, or related discipline - 3-5 years of experience in a college or university financial aid office with a focus on regulatory compliance - NASFAA Credentials preferred - Understanding of federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies related to financial aid - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders. - Demonstrated leadership ability and a commitment to promoting a culture of compliance and integrity within the financial aid office and across the institution. - In-depth knowledge of Title IV federal regulations related to financial aid as well as understanding of campus-wide impacts. - Experience in policy development and implementation related to financial aid.
