Job Description
Idaho State University is seeking to hire a senior staff clinician. The successful candidate will join a talented team of mental health professionals at the ISU Counseling and Mental Health Center (CMHC). This position is an in-person position on the Idaho State University, Meridian Campus. Our team of experienced clinicians support students and change their lives in meaningful ways to help them be the person they want to be. The position offers a variety of opportunities including direct clinical service, outreach and prevention, and consultation with campus partners. This allows staff to utilize their creativity in serving others without having to deal with insurance companies or the stresses of running one’s own business. In addition, our office prioritizes work-life fulfillment.
Start date in Spring or Summer 2025, date is negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
This position provides clinical services (e.g., individual, career, and group counseling); consulting with students, staff, faculty, and other Student Affairs offices; engagement in outreach programs; provision of emergency and triage services; provision of supervision/training to students training to be clinicians; service on Student Affairs or other University committees when needed; and additional duties that fall within the mission of the center.
Minimum Qualifications
- Terminal degree in a mental health field (e.g., Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical or Counseling Psychology, Ph.D. in Counselor Education, Masters in Counseling/MFT, or Masters in Social Work) from an accredited program. All degree requirements completed by August of 2025.
- Experience in the provision of clinical services to adults/late adolescents.
- Eligible to be licensed in Idaho as a psychologist, counselor/MFT, or social worker within a year of hire (two years for LCSW).
- Strong clinical skills and commitment to clinical work and the well-being of college students.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
- Evidence of collaboration and flexibility in working with others.
- A commitment to serve all students in accordance with ethical principles of the relevant professional organization, particularly as they relate to serving diverse communities and identities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supervising future mental health providers.
- Outreach, group, or consultation experience.
- Mental health crisis intervention experience.
- Experience providing services to college students on a college campus.
- Experience and/or strong interest in one or more of the following areas: Trauma, Veterans, service to lower SES populations, students from marginalized populations; eating/body image issues; biofeedback; substance abuse; mindfulness.

Salary will be between $72,000 - $82,320 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
