What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at IDS Blast?
Coordinates and carries out activities required to maintain quality and quality management systems. Position is a combination of hands-on task as well as administrative task.
Responsibilities:
· Ensures fabrication is in compliance with ASME Section VIII Div.1 requirements in relations to manufacture of pressure vessels.
· Performs quality inspections (e.g. incoming materials, completed welds and other manufactured parts).
· Acts as the Certified Individual for ASME small pressure vessel program.
· Evaluates, implements, monitors, and improves quality, quality procedures, standards and specifications.
· Provides quality document control.
· Issues and deals with non-compliance reports, implements preventive and corrective actions and ensures they are brought to satisfactory conclusion.
· Communicates with customers on all quality issues.
· Provides technical support to other departments such as engineering, production and purchasing.
· Keeps up to date with current quality assurance regulations and informs the management of any new and/or revised regulations imposed.
· Witnesses hydro testing.
· Manages safety program and ensures compliance with OSHA and TOSHA.
Skill:
· Familiarity with tools, concepts, and methodologies of quality management in a manufacturing environment (welding, machining, assembly).
· Mechanical / technical skills and experience preferred.
· Ability to interpret technical drawings.
· Strong quality and customer service orientation.
· Ability to operate independently within procedural guidelines and management directive.
· Effective verbal and written communication including an ability to write reports, business correspondence and quality manuals.
· Proficient computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, SolidWorks, Pro Write, and Design Calcs or equivalent). Sage 100 or ERP system is an advantage.
· Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to work with various departments to coordinate and meet quality standards
· Energetic, positive, and highly motivated to succeed and achieve results.
· Highly organized with an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to work calmly under pressure to targets and time schedules.
· High level attention to detail, thorough and organized.
· Ability to develop and implement complex procedures.
