Position Details
IMT is hiring a Payroll Specialist to provide support to the payroll department. Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor and working with the Payroll Staff Accountant, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate payroll processing and record-keeping.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for over 500 associates in 9 states in compliance with IMT policies and federal and state regulations
- Review and verify payroll data in a timely manner, calculates overtime and other pay premiums, and enter payroll data
- Process transactions such as new hires, terminations, status changes, tax changes, wage garnishments, deductions, and direct deposit
- Oversee maintenance of payroll records and files including but not limited to paid time off and other accrued leaves
- Respond to routine inquiries concerning payroll deductions and accruals, wage garnishments, child support payments and employment verifications
- Assist with the development and implementation of payroll practices, policies, and procedures
- Assist with special projects

- Multi-state payroll experience
- Current knowledge of federal and state legislation and regulations that affect payroll
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Professional verbal and written communication skills and presentation

- Attention to detail, time management and organizational skills
- Process improvement mindset to improve efficiency
It is a plus if you also have:
- Ceridian Dayforce experience
- Accounting and/or payroll education
- The ability to speak Spanish
