JOB TITLE: Development Director DEPARTMENT: Development

Job Summary
The Development Director is responsible for the successful and continual development of donor relationships, fundraising strategy and execution, and organizational financial support. This position works closely with the Executive Director, operations team and community. The right person for this role will be able to successfully develop and execute annual fundraising strategies related to budgetary goals, donor retention, donor acquisition, and programmatic awareness/support. The ability to demonstrate outstanding written, digital and interpersonal communication skills is required.
Development and Fundraising Duties:
- Recruit, engage, and retain donors in conjunction with the Executive Director.
- Create and manage the production of annual gift reports and donor impact reports to educate, engage, inspire, and thank donors, including corporate partners.
- Coordinate general donor communications including personalized thank yous, letters, appeals, web-based information, managing a hybrid communication process for electronic and hard copy donor correspondence.
- Manage fundraising and donor goals.
- Maintain and update all donor profiles consistently in Bloomerang. Responsible for accurate records and timely changes to individual and household files.
- Receive and log all donations, including financial and in-kind.
- Leverage donor relationships to secure in-kind gifts when needed.
- Assist in writing grant proposals and developing event opportunities.
- Analyze fundraising outcomes to determine effectiveness for future projects.
- Foster positive relationships with current and potential corporate partners, as well as community partners.
- Research and identify prospective new donors/partnerships and proactively initiate requests for support.
- Coordinate and oversee fundraising events with adequate return on investment.
Marketing/Communication Duties:
- Create communication content for social media and website platforms.
- Manage social media, webpage, and other online communication platforms.
- In collaboration with the operations team, communicate pertinent programmatic and operational updates to the general public.
- Maintain Communications Calendar; facilitating, scheduling and leading monthly rhythm to create fundraising, communication, and marketing materials.
- Oversee organizational branding and ensure communications align with mission, vision, and brand styling.
Other:
- Assist in developing processes in any way directed.
- Maintain an appearance which is both clean and appropriate for the In The Image mission.
- Work independently and as a part of a team.
- Any other job-related tasks deemed necessary by management.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Job Type: Salary (36-40 hours/week) some nights and weekends

Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or 2-5 years of relevant experience
Experience: Nonprofit experience and 2 years of proven donor management required.
Understanding of development and fundraising practices required.
License/Certifications: NA
Software: Microsoft Office Suite and Donor Management Software, Bloomerang knowledge a plus.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have 2 years of proven fundraising and Donor Management record.
- Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
- Bilingual - English/Spanish preferred but not required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
Work Environment: Must be able to frequently lift/push/pull objects that are 50 pounds or heavier. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
