We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head Chef for our premium steakhouse. This is a hands-on leadership role for a working chef who thrives in a high-paced, guest-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering exceptional culinary experiences, expertise in cooking and handling premium cuts of meat, and the ability to lead a motivated kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Culinary Leadership:
- Lead by example, actively participating in food preparation and cooking.
- Develop and execute a steakhouse menu featuring top-quality steaks, sides, and signature dishes.
- Ensure consistency and excellence in food presentation and taste.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service during peak hours.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and minimize waste to maintain cost efficiency.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
- Schedule and manage kitchen staff, ensuring optimal coverage.
- Quality Control:
- Ensure all dishes meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Source and work with premium ingredients, especially meats.
- Uphold strict sanitation and hygiene standards.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or Sous Chef in a steakhouse or similar fine-dining environment.
- Exceptional skill in preparing and cooking high-quality meats, including grilling, broiling, and sous-vide techniques.
- Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge of food costing, inventory management, and kitchen financials.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Preferred Skills:
- Expertise in butchery and meat selection.
- Knowledge of wine pairings with steakhouse dishes.
