We are seeking a proactive and experienced Maintenance Manager to oversee and manage the maintenance crew, ensuring that all facilities and equipment are well-maintained and meet operational standards. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with a solid background in managing maintenance teams, scheduling maintenance activities, and ensuring that all systems are operating efficiently and safely. The Maintenance Manager will play a key role in enhancing the reliability, safety, and performance of the organization's assets in either the Houston or Austin area.
- Manage, supervise, and provide leadership to the maintenance crew, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and to high standards. Foster a collaborative, safety-focused, and results-driven team culture.
- Develop and implement the maintenance schedule, prioritizing tasks based on urgency, impact, and operational requirements. Ensure that maintenance activities are performed on time and minimize downtime.
- Oversee and ensure that all preventive maintenance (PM) activities are completed per the planned schedules. Develop and update PM procedures to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.
- Manage the maintenance of all machinery, systems, and facilities, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and other critical systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and manage the maintenance department’s budget, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining the quality of maintenance work.
- Lead the troubleshooting and repair process for malfunctioning equipment or systems, providing hands-on support when necessary and ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime.
- : Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies and local, state, and federal regulations. Maintain a safe working environment and promote safety training among the maintenance team.
- Oversee relationships with external vendors and suppliers, ensuring that parts and services are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Manage the procurement of materials and equipment for repairs and maintenance.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for the maintenance team to enhance skills, efficiency, and safety practices. Ensure that the team is up-to-date with industry standards and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, inventory, and reports. Prepare regular reports on equipment performance, maintenance costs, and work progress for senior management.
- Be on call for emergency repairs and respond quickly to resolve critical issues that could impact operations.
- 5 years of experience in maintenance management or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of managing maintenance teams and overseeing the upkeep of complex systems and facilities.
- Proven leadership ability with experience managing and motivating maintenance teams, setting expectations, and ensuring high performance.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other facility systems. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
- Experience in scheduling and coordinating maintenance projects, with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and industry best practices for workplace safety. Ability to lead by example in maintaining a safe work environment.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve maintenance issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both internal teams and external vendors or contractors.
- A degree or certification in a related field (e.g., Industrial Maintenance, Facilities Management) is a plus. Relevant technical certifications (e.g., HVAC, Electrical) are also advantageous.
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including standing, lifting, and working in various weather conditions or facilities.
