This is onsite only, not remote.
Integrated Machinery Solutions is a heavy industrial equipment manufacturer located in Azle, TX. We specialize in the design and manufacture of material handling equipment, primarily in the overhead crane market. IMS is currently looking for a full-time Mechanical or Structural Design Engineer with 3 to 8 years engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide designs for complex engineering assignments including structural and mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
- Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products such as hoists, trolleys, speed reducers, structural weldments, and other structures and machinery used for overhead material handling.
- May be involved in fabrication, operation, application, installation, repair, and modification of structural/mechanical products.
- Have a basic application knowledge of electric motors and motor drives is required.
- Complete work according to standard engineering principles and practices
- Design structural and mechanical components as required for equipment and machinery
- Prepare structural and mechanical engineering calculations using computerized and longhand methods.
- Use SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D and 2D structural and mechanical drawing.
- Create general arrangement layouts, assembly drawings, detailed shop drawings, bills of materials, and part drawings.
- Work with the basic features of Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Must be organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
- 3-8 years of applicable engineering experience, with a focus on hoist design.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D and 2D structural and mechanical drawings.
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and structural analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently, with minimum supervision, and as part of a team.
- Must be organized and can prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) software.
- Experience with helical/spur gear and gearbox design.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations (e.g., CMAA, AWS, ASME).
