Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Carry out cutting-edge research in radio interface design including physical layer, radio interface architecture and L2-4 protocols for next generation mobile communications systems
• Research, analyze and evaluate cellular systems and develop wireless protocols and algorithm designs using theoretical analysis, link-level, or system-level simulations for beyond 5G / 6G
• Implement wireless protocols and associated algorithms in a MATLAB based system-level simulation testbench to support various features for beyond 5G / 6G
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and/or technical papers surveying state of the art, describing design and development efforts, and presenting evaluation results
• Drive technology generation and disclosure writing and supporting patent applications and downstream support
  
  

Qualifications

• Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Strong background and experience in wireless communications fundamentals, communication theory, networking and digital signal processing including data processing through PHY, data link layer, network layer and transport layer.
• Successful candidate is expected to have a strong system level and/or link level simulations background with high proficiency in MATLAB and source control tool (e.g., GitHub)
• Strong analytical and research skills. Research experience in wireless communications, and AI/ML with a track record of peer-reviewed publications is highly preferred
• Familiarity with cellular systems standards (3GPP 4G LTE and 5G) is preferred
• Dedicated, result oriented professional with an attitude for getting the job done
• Ability to thrive in an innovative, dynamic, and research-oriented work environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills
