Construction Project Engineer

Ironwood Commercial Builders, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to work within our Concord, California office. Ironwood Commercial Builders, Inc. is a general contractor that is a Woman-Owned Small Business. Ironwood Commercial Builders predominantly delivers federal construction projects within our general contracting division.

Salary: $65,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience

Job Type: Full-time, Health, Dental, & Vision benefits for the employee and employee's family.

Job duties:

Seeking New Project Opportunities:

• Review new job solicitations on appropriate websites. Track and communicate opportunities to Project Managers

RFIs:

• Receive information from field superintendents and translate it into an RFI to client
• Submit RFI’s to client
• Receive and send RFI’s & ASI’s and file and log in job folder. Distribute as applicable to subcontractors.

General Administrative Support of Project Execution:

• Assist in any necessary tracking of project schedule and change orders
• Create required material and sample submittals for client
• Solicit subcontractors for required submittals per specifications
• Review subcontractor submittals for conformance to specifications
• Track punch list items
• Assist in processing required security clearances – dependent on government agency
• Assist in the event our field should have questions about scope within client contracts

Maintain Logs:

• RFI Log
• Transmittal Log
• Meeting Logs
• Submittal Log
• Correspondence Log

ICBI Meetings:

• Create Action List
• Give Status Reports
• Progress of project

Job Close-out:

• Analysis
• Verify with P.O. log any outstanding invoices.
• Warranties
• Verifying Operation & Maintenance Manual submittal requirements from subcontractors
• Ensuring extra material stock is provided by subcontractors as applicable
