About the Job: The Director of Engineering at iVueit will oversee a high-performing engineering team to design, develop, and deliver innovative software solutions that align with our business objectives. This role will primarily focus on advancing iVueit’s mobile app and portals with an emphasis on speed to market, security, and 24x7 availability. Additionally, the Director will collaborate with sales and operations teams to align technology with strategic roadmaps. Success in this position requires innovative thinking, creative problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and teams effectively.
What You’ll Do:
- Organize and oversee projects and processes to ensure the engineering team operates efficiently and effectively.
- Recruit, mentor, and manage engineering staff, fostering skill development and professional growth.
- Manage the operational budget and expenses for the engineering department.
- Conduct design evaluations to ensure projects meet resource, budget, and scheduling requirements.
- Define, track, and report KPIs to measure progress and support data-driven decision-making.
- Oversee day-to-day activities of engineering teams and project managers, ensuring timely execution of software development projects.
- Simplify and standardize designs, operations, and deployment plans, focusing on performance, agility, and scalability.
- Lead production operations support, ensuring the stability, availability, and performance of production applications.
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of hands-on development and/or solutions engineering experience, including recent experience with mobile solutions.
- 5 years of experience leading engineering teams.
- Proven experience delivering web and/or mobile products at scale.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, platforms, and technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Excellent critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage with both senior leadership and technical personnel.
- Experience implementing and running DevOps practices.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
Desired Qualifications:
- Expertise in Agile methodologies.
- Knowledge of CI/CD, Release Management, and Configuration Management processes and tools.
- Familiarity with data modeling and AI concepts.
- Experience delivering customer-facing digital products using cross-platform technologies such as Flutter, React Native, etc..
Compensation:
- Annual salary: $150,000 – $185,000
- Bonus eligibility
