What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Health Nurse position at Jackson County Health Department?
The Jackson County Health Department is seeking applicants for a Public Health Nurse, RN or LPN, to prevent, promote and protect the public health of Jackson County residents.
This is a full-time position Monday-Friday 8am -4:30pm. Some occasional nights and weekends are possible. Fast paced environment, must be able to multi-task. Responsibilities include but are not limited to administering vaccinations to children and adults. Administer testing for Hep C and HIV. Conduct communicable disease investigations. Assist with off-site clinics and community events throughout Jackson County. Provide patient education on vaccines, diseases and services offered. Requirements: Current Indiana RN or LPN License. Ability to examine/screen patients for treatment and referrals, knowledge of standard immunizations practices and procedures. This position requires proficiency is both oral and written communication. Able to lift 50 lbs. and have a valid driver’s license.
