Description

Job Summary

In partnership with the Golf Club’s Management, this positions supports the Player Services Supervisor to ensure a positive and seamless golf experience. The Team Lead focuses more on team support and training and direct guest interactions.

Supervision

This position has no supervisory responsibility for Player Service.

Duties and Responsibilities

The duties and responsibilities listed below are essential to the employee’s position. Some responsibilities are seasonal in nature.

Operational responsibilities:

  • Customer Service Excellence:  Acts a point of contact for guests and members, ensuring their needs are being met and resolving any issues that arise. Informs golf management of issues.
  • Technical Training:  Provides player services training to new hires and/or ongoing re-training to existing staff.
  • Team Coordination:  Assists in coordinating the player services team during assigned shift.
  • Operation Coordination:  Helps coordinate daily operations related to the golf course, including cart rentals, course readiness, and tee time scheduling with Inside Golf.
  • Golf Tournament / Events: May support the execution of golf tournaments and special events to ensure everything runs smoothly.
  • Maintenance Feedback:  While not directly responsible for course maintenance, coordinate with the Grounds Department to ensure the course is in optimal and safe condition for play.
  • Hands-on Supervision: Able to perform both the Player Services Rep and Cart Washer roles. This includes the ability to manage golf carts, maintain cleanliness, and knowing how the schedule integrates with the tee sheet and seasonal variations.
  • Range and Fleet (Golf Cart) Management:  Report issues with golf carts to golf management or supervisor.
  • Lost Equipment:  Ensure that lost equipment is tracked and inventoried appropriately.

Attend meetings and trainings, as scheduled.

Conform with all safety standards and use of all appropriate safety equipment.

Performs all other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications


Education and Experience Required

High school / GED. Prior experience in a player services or guest related role.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to build rapport with team members and guests, fostering a positive environment with a sense of urgency.
  • Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to relay information clearly to team members and guests.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team.
  • Active participations in completion of tasks.
  • Has a strong focus on providing excellent service, ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to quickly address and resolve guest issues.
  • Basic knowledge of golf including etiquette, golf club’s course layout and services offered.

Computer Skills

Required:

  • Ability to use employee self-service on company’s human resources/payroll database.
  • Ability to use golf-related databases.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Required because of driving golf carts:  Valid State Driver’s License

Other

Ability to work schedule required to fulfill duties of position. At times, individual must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with ability to handle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate. Must seek approval from supervisor before incurring overtime, Schedule flexibility which may include weekends and holidays.

  • Regularly required to talk and actively listen.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, ability to adjust focus, and manual dexterity in combination with eye/hand coordination.
  • Work around people.
  • Must use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Exposure to noise, dust, heat and inclement weather conditions.
  • Frequent lifting and carrying equipment, such as golf bags, which may weigh up to 50 pounds or more.

OSHA Category:

Category I:  The position regularly involves exposure to blood, body fluids, or similar materials. This includes routine activities such as landscaping, where cuts and scrapes may occur, and potential interactions with pets or animals on the premises that could lead to exposure to body fluids.

This position is a safety-sensitive position. Under the law, safety-sensitive positions are defined as positions where the employee operates, repairs, maintains or monitors the performance or operation of a motor vehicle, equipment, machinery, or power tools. Safety-sensitive positions may also include jobs where the tasks or duties required of the employee could affect the safety or health of the employee performing the task or others. NOTE:  This position requires driving a golf card, as necessary.

Pay:  Tipped Position (Minimum wage for 2025 $14.70 per hour; Tipped Rate for 2025 $11.70)
